Ajijic a pre-colonial village with cobblestone streets is composed of Ajijic Central and surrounding East, West and Upper residential areas. There is a street market every Wednesday near Plaza Bugambilias. Las Salvias is one example of an Upper Central Area. La Floresta is a desirable tree-studded residential area East of Ajijic with an active homeowner’s association. It is often referred to as the Mexican Riveria. La Floresta also has an Upper East Area. Los Olivos is another example of an Upper East Area. Los Arroyos, Villa Nova & Rancho del Oro are developments on the western edge of the village central of Ajijic.
